Akoma produces and sources its range of products from the raw natural state directly from source. This allows us to support the producers without exploitation and providing our goods to our customers at competitive prices and being ethically friendly.

Organic Unrefined Shea Butter:
The rituals practiced throughout Northern Ghana and from simple beauty routine to age old royal ceremonies, Akoma Women's Co-operative are involved in producing Shea Butter products that are sustainable.


They use extracts distilled from the Shea tree cultivated around Northern Ghana to provide a truly dye and fragrance free experience. Our Shea Butter contains vitamin A and E that is highly compatible with most skin types.

Virgin Organic Coconut Oil:
Our certified organic Virgin Coconut Oil may be used in both cosmetics and in cooking. Coconut Oil may be used in product formulations to reduce coetaneous dryness to assist the skin to retain moisture after exposure to sun and other harsh elements. It is completely oil miscible and contains no preservatives or colouring agents.

African Black Soap:
Akoma's African Black Soap is made in Ghana, and has been prized for centuries for its natural healing properties.

Black soap is made with 25% or 50% pure, organically grown Shea Butter, Virgin Palm Kernel Oil and Coconut Oil. The lye that is used in the saponification process is made from the ash of cocoa pods.

Cocoa Butter:
Cocoa Butter supplied by Akoma is made in Ghana derived from the solid fat expressed from the roasted seed of the cocoa beans.

Our Cocoa Butter may be used in a variety of cosmetic, toiletry and pharmaceutical applications to reduce coetaneous dryness and improve skin flexibility.
